Coaching 101

Cross Country / Middle Distance
Endurance, strategy, and strength—these are the pillars of success in cross country and middle distance running. From tempo runs and intervals to hill workouts and recovery strategies, athletes will learn how to push their limits and optimize performance. Whether you're preparing for a 5K or middle-distance events, the right training will help you run stronger, smarter, and faster.
Discus
The discus throw combines strength, technique, and precision to achieve maximum distance. Our training focuses on developing explosive power, balance, and proper rotational mechanics to help athletes improve their throws. From footwork drills and release techniques to strength training and flexibility exercises, athletes will gain the skills and confidence needed to excel in the circle.
High Jump
The high jump is a blend of speed, strength, technique, and timing. Training focuses on developing explosive power, proper approach mechanics, and flawless takeoff and bar clearance. Athletes will learn key drills to improve their approach run, vertical jump, and body positioning, while building strength and flexibility to maximize height.
Hurdles
Hurdling requires a perfect balance of speed, rhythm, and technique. Our training zone emphasizes proper form, stride patterns, and explosive power to help athletes glide efficiently over each hurdle. From drills that improve lead leg and trail leg mechanics to speed work and flexibility exercises, athletes will develop the skills needed to maintain momentum and reduce time between hurdles.
Javelin
The javelin throw combines speed, strength, flexibility, and precision. Our Training zone focuses on developing proper technique, explosive power, and body coordination to maximize your throwing distance.
Long Jump / Triple Jump
Our horizontal training zone focuses on developing proper approach mechanics, takeoff power, and in-air positioning to maximize distance. Athletes will learn key drills to improve speed on the runway, transition phases, and landing technique.
Shot Put
The shot put is all about power, technique, and timing. Building explosive strength, mastering the glide or rotational technique, and improving your release mechanics in order to maximize distance. Work on key components like proper stance, balance, and shoulder and hip coordination, alongside strength training and explosive power drills.
Sprints
Improve your explosive start, acceleration, and top-end speed, while refining your running form to minimize energy waste. Work on sprint-specific drills, strength training, flexibility, and technique to enhance performance.
